Teak
Teak, a type of wood known in India since the 18th century, is grown in well-managed forests in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka. Forests are state-controlled, which ensure wood is not misappropriated. The chain of custody is strictly followed, and the teak from Indian forests is regularly auctioned by the Government of India in various depots located in these forest areas.
